Mobile Mammography Vans in Gilpin & Clear Creek Counties

I believe that preventative care is an important part of healthy living, and should be available to everyone. It is especially important for women to have preventative and early detection care for breast cancer. Therefore, I am happy to sponsor two women's health events in our mountain communities.

Gilpin Mobile Mammography

When: Sat, May 15, 8:30am – 3:15pm; sign up before the event for an appointment.
Where: Gilpin County Public Health Agency, 101 Norton Drive, Black Hawk CO 80422 (map)
Description: The St. Joseph Hospital Mobile Mammography Van will be in Black Hawk to provide mammograms for females age 40 and over. This event accepts all insurance coverage with the exception of Kaiser Permanente (KP). KP members may get a mammogram at the KP Breast Center by calling 303.764.4373 The system will bill your insurance but if you don’t have insurance they won’t turn anyone away. To make your mammogram appointment please call: Ann Marie Bailey, Public Health Coordinator at 303-582-5803.

Patients who can be screened on the Mobile Mammography Van 
1. Starting at age 40 and over 
2. Asymptomatic or no problems 
3. Generalized lumpiness 
4. Breast pain (Generalized not focal, related to menstrual cycles) 
5. Patients with a history of mastectomy over a year and with no new problems 
6. Implants (Please schedule double slots) 
7. Large pendulous breast (defined as a bra size double D or greater.

Patients who cannot be screened on the Mobile Mammography Van 
1. Under the age of 35 unless strong family history (mother/sister, patient will need a referral from their doctor) 
2. Discrete lump 
3. Nipple disc harge 
4. Patients with history of lumpectomy due to cancer 
5. Wheelchair bound 
6. Patients who are otherwise physically or mentally handicapped and unable to assist in the exam. 
7. Patients that require a 6 month follow up or follow up to a screening mammogram 
8. Nursing (patient can have mammogram 6 months after patient has stopped nursing)

Clear Creek Women's Health Day

When: Wed, June 16, 8:00am – 3:00pm; sign up before the event for an appointment.
Where: Clear Creek Community Resource Center, 1531 Colorado Blvd, Idaho Springs CO 80452 (map)
Description: The St. Joseph Hospital Mobile Mammography Van will be in Idaho Springs to provide mammograms for females age 40 and over. This event accepts all insurance coverage with the exception of Kaiser Permanente (KP). KP members may get a mammogram at the KP Breast Center by calling 303.764.4373 The system will bill your insurance but if you don’t have insurance they won’t turn anyone away. To make your mammogram appointment please call: 303-318-3419 to make your appointment (walk ins will be accepted if time available). See above for patient eligibility.

Adult Immunizations, no appointment necessary.1. Tetanus: $142. Hepatitis A & B: $55 each (series of 3)3. Pneumonia: $304. Shingles: $175 (age 60 and over)
